A pair of English silver basket bowls in Neo Rococo style. Engraved inscription indicating that they formed the 2nd prize at an event (sports?) in Topsham, Devon, in 1899. Marks for John Millward Banks in Birmingham 1896. Length: "5 ¼ / 13 cm. Condition: fine.

A silver plated miniature bowl and sterling silver spoon. The bowl fluted, with flaring rim, inside with traces of gilt. Unmarked, England, late 19th century. The diminutive spoon is a rat-tail spoon, an 18th century model, but the hall marks are for Birmingham 1960. Length of spoon "1 ¾ / 4,7 cm, diam. of bowl "1 ½ / 3,7 cm. Condition: fine.

Sterling silver miniature bowl, boat shaped in late 18th c style. A toy size candy or sweetmeat bowl. Maker’s mark JMB for John Millward Banks, q = 1890 and anchor mark for Birmingham. Almond shaped, the sides fluted. Width / "2 ¼ / 6 cm. Condition: fine.

Six English silver plated spoons, the shafts with little coffee beans made of dark brown wood. The “bean end” design appeared already in the late 1800’s, in the Arts and Crafts period. There are coffee pots and other coffee utensils related to Christopher Dresser with coffee beans on, but it has not yet been proved that he was behind the idea of using the coffee bean as a design motif. A blue and white English tea bowl with scalloped and gilt edge. Transfer printed with a variation of the Man on the Bridge pattern. Around 1785-90, possibly Caughley, unmarked. An English “ménage a trois”, where parties of slightly different patterns in grey and gilt have been "married" into a trio. Rococo revival decoration, c 1830. Coalport Adelaide shape and pattern numbers 847, 120 and 599. Height of larger cup "3 ½ / 8,5 cm and diam. of saucer "6 / 15 cm. Condition: minimal wear to the gilt.
