From 1961 to 1965, Fostoria produced some very elegant occasional pieces that were modeled upon the crowns of Europe. This 5 3/4 inch covered candy jar is the Hapsburg Crown pattern. The Lafayette pattern is one of Fostoria Glass Company's earlier dinnerware shapes, and was used as the blank for many of their etchings. Offered here is the 7 1/4 inch salad or dessert plate in the rare Wisteria color. This color was made in the early 1930's and is dichroic as it reacts to the light - changes from amethyst in daylight to a blue, almost tanzanite color, in florescent light.
