An original 1820 engraving of fox hunting vignettes that has been hand tinted. These scenes are by the famous sporting artist Henry Alken. It is in its original mat and there is consistent age toning throughout. There are also some darker age spots and some rippling in the woven paper. It is housed in an antique burled veneer frame that measures 14.25 X 13 inches. The frame has numerous small chips at the rim, hardly noticeable. Original price was $400.

Pair of watercolored ink drawn foxes that have been killed and hung up. Typical European school "nature morte", hunting game still life paintings. These date to the very early 1900's and are probably French or German. Condition is excellent except for a cut-off corner on one painting that was laid on top of a mat for framing. This is an old cigarette case marked "Germany". Made of chrome, it has a brightly colored fox hunting scene imbedded in the lid. The only condition issues are numerous surface scratches and missing elastic bands (that would have held the cigarettes in place). These can be replaced. Size is 3 X 3.5 inches.

Magnificent, huge oil painting of a mother fox bringing dinner, a goose, to her hungry fox cubs. It is signed by the artist, J. T. Wortendyke, who used 'pointillism' to create the picture. We recently acquired a trio of old English painted pottery stirrup cups in the form of a fox. They are similar in that they all have grape vines encircling their masks, but they each differ slightly. Dating to the early 1900's, this one is almost 5 inchdes long and is in excellent condition, with only some scrapes and rubbing on the rim.
