A patinated bronze inkwell with a rectangular base. The case is fluted and decorated on his lower part and on the sides with ormolu acanthus leaves, it contains an inkwell with four cups and four pen-holders. The clock lid represents Triton coming out from the water with a feather in his hand and holding the mecanism with his fishtail.
Very good condition.

Un encrier en bronze patiné et doré de base rectangulaire. Le boîtier cannelé est décoré dans sa partie inférieure et sur les côtés feuilles d'acanthe, il contient un encrier composé de quatre godets et quatre porte-plumes. Il est refermé par un couvercle formant pendulette et représentant Triton sortant des eaux avec une plume à la main et soutenant le mouvement.

A French porcelain-mounted ormolu casket by Alphonse Giroux, Paris, mid-19h century. The hinged lid surmounted by a reclining lady is engraved overall with scrolling foliate designs, decorated with turquoise porcelain and enameled flowers. It is inscribed to the interior 'Alph Giroux et Cie Paris'.
Very good condition.

Un coffret Alphonse Giroux en bronze doré et décors en porcelaine, fait à Paris, moitié XIXème. Le couvercle retenu par une charnière et surmonté d'une figure de femme allongée est gravé sur toute sa surface de motifs floraux et végétaux s'alternant avec des cartouches en porcelaine turquoise décorés de fleurs émaillées. Signé à l'intérieur 'Alph Giroux et Cie Paris'.

A beautiful necessary casket covered with black leather. Inside is veneered with rosewood, with two folding caskets on the sides and in the centre ten facet worked crystal bottles or boxes with a vermeil lid marked with "E. K." surmounted by a Marquis' crown; inside of the boxes a brush and an inkwell. On the casket's lid is a bow shaped mirror. A work by "Maison SMAL L DUJAT Palais Royal n° 7 et 8".

Beau coffret nécessaire garni de cuir noir doré aux petits fers. Il renferme un intérieur plaqué de bois de rose, présentant latéralement deux coffrets. Au centre dix flacons ou boîtes en cristal facetté à couvercle de vermeil à fond guilloché, chiffré "E. K." et surmonté d'une couronne de Marquis; à l'intérieur une brosse et un encrier. Le couvercle présente un miroir à arc et fronton à bord biseauté.
