Kakejiku (scroll painting) mounted with silk brocade borders; depicting a formal portrait of a feudal dignitary, possibly a daimyo, dressed in formal court attire with robe and kamuri (ciurt hat) and seated on an elevated mat; sumi ink and color on silk, signed 'Eishuku ga', copied after Kano Eishuku (1675-1724) the ninth-generation of the Nakabashi Kano School; minor repairs; overall 62 by 21.5 inches; painting measures 36 by 16 inches. Includes appraisal for insurance replacement value of $575.
