Fantastic Taisho Period C.1915 signed Kutani ceramic Noh figure, Okina. The signature kutani pottery kiln colors of rich purple and greens create a noh figure that seems to be alive. Very unusual hand painted orbs and geometrical designs on a pair of kutani ceramic sake pourers c.1925. Signed on the bottom by the artist, Tosen and the characters for kutani. Kutani is one Japan's most famous ceramic centers. A very slight scratch on the bottom diamond. Shipping to usa/western europe $50.

Gorgeous art deco Tamekichi Mitsui III signed Kutani plate. He received his artist's name Tamekichi III in 1961 from his teacher, and was soon afterward commissioned to create a plate for Edwin Reischhauer's visit in 1962. He was a favorite of the royal family who bought numerous pieces in 1976. Also from 1979-1988 Japanese Prime Ministers took his works abroad as gifts during state trips. He was a professor of art in Washington D.C. from 1997-2004 and had his own exhibition at the Smithsonian Museum in 2002. Perfect condition in a signed kiri wood box. $880. Beautiful green glaze, one of the hallmark glazes from the famed Kutani kiln. Signed on the bottom, 'Kutani Seiho Tsukuri' made by Kutani Seiho. Perfect condition. c.1939. Yamagami Chikuou was born in Showa 4 (1930) and won numerous prizes for his original works of art including the first prize at the Japanese Classic Art Expo and also many awards in Kutani ceramic competitions. He created his own style of Kutani ceramics at his Chikuou Kiln and went on to garner many honors for his creativeness and innovation.
