A subtle and handsome late Victorian 10k rose gold bar or tie pin c1890-1900. This 1-3/4" bar or tie pin features a lovely oval cabochon banded agate with excellent moonstone irridescence and subtle orange tinged banding. The agate measures 1" x 1/2", this pin closes with a c-clasp and it is in excellent condition with no chips, losses, corrosion or repairs but there is a split in the gold bezel (setting) surrounding the agate (can be easily re-soldered). The mark besides the 10K is an anchor, what appears to be a maple leaf and a lion, which we believe are the marks used by Ellis Bros., Toronto (bought out by Birks in 1921). An unusual late Georgian period rolled gold plate mourning frame with a plaited hair insert and daguerrotype of a gentleman. This is a large engine turned oval frame c1820-40, with an oval glass insert section on the back, containing a lock of plaited and waxed hair. The front of the frame contains a large Daguerrotype (negative/positive image on polished silver) of a gentleman that is slightly more recent than the frame, dating to around 1850s-1860, by his style of clothing. The workmanship on this 2-5/8" x 2-1/8" ornate frame (measurement doesn't include hanging loop) is superb, both in execution and in detail. The hair insert is original, with its original glass and bezel and the daguerrotype itself is in good condition with some haloing on the edges and minor spotting on the man's cheek. This attractive frame has ornate deeply carved engraving around the frame edge and around the back hair insert section. It is in very good condition, with no chips, cracks or damage other than a recent repair to the suspension loop which was broken off and reattached, and there is some minor wear on the back of the frame. A vintage sterling Art Nouveau natural bristle clothes brush c1895. This brush has wonderful high relief repousse floral work in sterling, reminds you of the Kirk Steiff repousse flatware. It measures 7-1/8" x 2" and has the original natural bristles mounted on a wood board inserted into the sterling silver top. This (probably) American piece is marked STERLING and it is in excellent condition, with no bends, corrosion, repairs or damage other than a J.E.G. script monogram and some small denting around the edge of the top where it meets the edge of the wood. An unusual Victorian plush covered handkerchief box c1880 with an applied glass disk with a photograph. The box measures 8" across and 1-7/8" deep; it is covered by a yellow/green plush or velvet with a pressed paper bottom. The interior is lined with embossed lizardskin paper in a light green colour. The photograph is a contemporary print of an English scene photograph (fine dots visible under magnification); the photo/print is mounted on to the underside of a 6" glass circle with a gold edge. This dresser box is is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, corrosion, repairs or damage other than some wear to the nap of the plush exterior showing the base of the material in some spots, some fading of the green plush, a small loss and rubbing to the bottom paper, and some pencil marks and hinge split on the interior paper. An unusual and ornate Art Nouveau - late Victorian watch fob and seal c1900. This unmonogrammed seal fob measures 5/8" x 7/16" and stands 7/8" tall, it weighs 5.1 grams of 14k rose gold (partial mark, tested), and it has unusual openwork wire construction with hearts. This item is in excellent condition with no dents, cracks, losses or damage. There are two fine scratches on the unmonogrammed seal area and there are two solder repairs on the suspending loop, which may have been replaced for wear as a pendant, and the green in the picture is some (now cleaned) dirt. A nice Victorian 9k rose gold watch fob chain with swivel and a fob seal c1897. This 4" fob chain and 3/4" long seal are fully signed; the 9/16" x 7/16" seal has a full set of hallmarks for Birmingham, England 1897 (probably, since the year date is slightly worn); each link is stamped 9 .375, and the swivel is stamped as well.
