An awesome Colima dog from West Mexico, ca. 300 BC – 300 AD. This large two-tone canine is 14-1/4” long, 9-1/2” high and is depicted standing on all fours in an alert position. The head is nicely detailed, quite expressive and has a lovely dark face mask. Intact, with strong mineral deposits overall.

An excellent Colima drummer from West Mexico, ca. 300 BC – 300 AD. He is 3-1/8” high and is posed seated behind a large drum. He is adorned with a fancy headdress, necklace and bracelets. The whistle built into his head has great tone. Intact, with good mineral deposits and root marks.

A wonderful Nayarit figure from West Mexico, 200 BC – 300 AD. This beautifully detailed Ixtlan del Rio effigy is 11-1/2” high and depicts a seated ballplayer holding the game ball in his right hand. He is wearing the typical belt and is adorned with a simple headdress and the complex ear ornaments characteristic of the type. Strong paint shows textured clothing even through the extensive mineral deposits. A great example of a highly coveted type, with just a small restoration.

A fine Nayarit figure from West Mexico, ca. 200 – 350 AD. This typical San Sebastian type female is 7-1/2” high and is posed seated, with hands on hips. Her coif is deeply incised and the serrated ears indicate the characteristic multiple ear ornaments. The dark red slip is highly burnished and shows extensive mineral deposits.

A lovely Colima figure from West Mexico, ca. 300 BC – 300 AD. This seated female is 6-1/2” high, posed with legs spread and hands resting on the thighs. She is adorned with a headdress, ear spools and arm bands, with remnants of black and cream paint indicating clothing. The red slip is nicely burnished and shows good dendrites.
