A rare Teotihuacan candelero from Mexico, ca. 200 – 750 AD. This choice Metepec example is 2-3/4” wide and consists of a double-chambered unit decorated with the deep “thumb-impressed” décor characteristic of the type. Strong mineral deposits overall.

A group of five Pre-Columbian heads from Teotihuacan, Mexico, ca. 200 - 750 AD. They range from 1-1/4” to 1-3/4” in height and include various types, including Early Tlamimilolpa, Xolalpan and Metepec examples. All have good mineral deposits, one with rare red paint and all are individually mounted. The set makes a great display.

A rare Tlatilco sello from Mexico, ca. 1200 – 500 BC. This solid roller seal is 2-1/4” long, 1” in diameter and created spiked spiral and geometric designs. In excellent condition, with good mineral deposits.

A large Nayarit figure from West Mexico, ca. 200 BC – 300 AD. This lovely Ixtlan del Rio female is 13-1/2” high and is depicted standing, supporting a bowl on her right shoulder. The fan she is holding with her left hand is an insignia of her social status. She is wearing a long skirt with painted designs, which are matched by her braided headdress. A fine Vera Cruz figure, ca. 300 BC – 300 AD. This excellent Remojadas type is 4-1/8” high and is adorned with a fancy loincloth, complex headdress, segmented necklace and matching ear ornaments. Good mineral deposits and chapopote décor.

A superb Colima bowl from West Mexico, ca. 300 BC – 300 AD. This choice Comala phase example is 7-1/4” in diameter and is decorated with a trio of serpents, executed in relief. The slip is highly burnished and shows good mineral deposits, with strong calcification on the inside.

An exceptionally large Colima figure from West Mexico, ca. 300 BC - 300 AD. This enormous Coahuyana type is 16" high and depicts a seated female with hands held to the mid-section. She is adorned with a simple headdress and appliqué shoulder scarification. The deep red slip is highly burnished and shows extensive mineral deposits. An intact piece with great presence.

An excellent Colima dog from West Mexico, ca. 300 BC – 300 AD. This beautifully sculpted two-tone canine effigy is 11-1/4” long, 7-1/2” high and is depicted standing on all fours. The face is nicely detailed with a friendly demeanor, the ears are attentively perked and the front feet are incised to indicate toes. Intact, with good dendrites overall.

This choice archaic Tekoman example is 10-3/8” high and depicts a man wearing a complex headdress wrapped around the characteristic elongated head. His ears are pierced, indicating large ear ornaments. Nicely burnished, strong mineral deposits, mounted on stand.

An excellent Colima bed figure from West Mexico, ca. 300 BC – 300 AD. It is 3-5/8” long and depicts a female tied to a funerary pallet. She is adorned with a simple headdress and ear ornaments, her head is resting on a cushion. These anecdotal figures represent women who died in childbirth. In excellent condition, with strong dendrites.
