A rare, but rather easy to overlook, Georgian wine glass, the slightly waisted ogee bowl flute moulded to the lower half above a mixed twist stem made up of a spiral thread inside a spiral air gauze paired with a spiral opaque thread standing on a plain conical foot. A rather demure glass this: its subtle features do not immediately stand out. However, a closer look reveals a glass with pleasing classical proportions, the subtle treatment of the stem with its clean lines and lack of fussiness and the restrained curve in the profile of the bowl all combine to give the glass some real poise.
