This fine vase was made by the Okura workshop. The Okura workshop is renowned for the brilliant white color of their porcelain. They were able to achieve this because the clay they used is some of the best quality found,enabling it to withstand extreme heat, producing the brilliant white color. The motif consists of a rose in full bloom done in gold, silver, and black. This piece stands 11 in. tall and is in original mint condition, with no loss of gold work or restoration.

A fine uniquely shaped Japanese vase depicting Mt. Fuji. The snow covered peaks along with the beautiful stylized clouds flowing across the midsection of the vase were done in the Moriage style. Subsequently there is a magnificent blending of colors from dark blue to light green done in the Musen-Jippo (wireless) style. This unique and charming Japanese blue and white bowl depicts a group of young boys feeding and playing with a long tusked elephant set in an idyllic naturalistic mountain setting. The piece stands 3.0 inches tall by 13.0 wide and was created in the late 18th century to early 19th century. This first of two classic Japanese Imari porcelain dish is done in alternating panels of the rust reds and cobalt blues depicting stylized flowers and ho-ho birds. The center theme is a flowing ho-ho bird done in red, blue, green, with a touch of lavender. A nice amount of gold is used throughout the piece. The dish measures 8.5 in. wide by 1 1/8 in. tall and other then some minor wear to the gold, it is in excellent condition. No Restoration. unsigned. Later Meiji.
