Antique Burmese ox cart wood carving. Hand carved of teak wood about one hundred years ago, this beautiful example of the decorations once used to adorn on ox carts, features a humming bird taking nectar from a flower. As you can see, there are a few minor scuffs, that can be covered with shoe polish. We kept it as found. Size: 13" tall, 13.5" wide, 2" deep (Base: 4" x 12")

Bird looking to sky cart decoration from Burma. The bird is depicted standing on a leafed branch looking to the heavens. The long part behind him at one time was used to connect the piece to the ancient cart. This style hand crafted teak wood decoration adorned the ox or buffalo carts that were the main mode of transportation many years ago in Burma. Great condition and beautiful patina. Circa 1800s.
