This is a top quality Japanese Edo (19th century)gosu-blue Satsuma Koro with shishi on a pierced lid, with beautifully shaped handles and feet,and Tokugawa family mons on the lid and upper part of the Koro. Big Japanese Edo Period (first part 19th century) gorgeous gosu-blue Satsuma basket-shaped Cricket Cage with a wood pierced lid. The sides of the Cage are finely decorated with a scene of Chrysanthemum blossoms of red, white and gold colors with green, blue and gold leaf design. Wonderful Japanese Edo Period first part C19th gosu-blue Satsuma Teapot. It is finely decorated with flower bushes, leaves and blossoms design on one side and different flower bushes on fence design on the other side of the Teapot. The spout as well as the lid have symbolic gosu-blue red and gold ornaments. The handle is decorated with Greek keys ornaments. 5 1/4" tall x 6 1/4" D.

Japanese late C19th Meiji Period fine quality Satsuma Teapot with a spout in a shape of a lizard and a handle in a shape of two lizards. There are eight very finely hand-painted decorative scrolls with samurai and old men on the teapot. Magnificent gold raised symbolic decorations are over the top of the pot and its lid. Rare Japanese Meiji Period C19th finely hand-decorated fan-shaped Satsuma vase with feet in a shape of scrolls. The vase depicts a scene of two birds over bushes with pomegranates with blossoms and morning glory blossoms on one side. Japanese 19th century tripod Satsuma Koro with an okimono of Shishi on a lid. The same Koro can be seen in a book Treasures of Imperial Japan Ceramics from Khalili collection, from National museum of Wales, page 45, picture 44. Please see pictures.
