A French bronze figural group entitled 'La douleur d'Orphée'
cast by Ferdinand Barbedienne from a model by Raoul Verlet,
the youthful hero shown standing, his lyre at his feet, his head crowned with a wreath of laurel and his cloak billowing in an arc, Cereberus roaring behind, on naturalistic rocky base, signed Raoul Verlet, numbered 911, inscribed F. BARBEDIENNE FONDEUR and stamped with the Collas reduction roundel. Rich dark brown patina.

The base signed J.E. MASSON and inscribed SUSSE FRERES, EDITION, PARIS and with stamped foundry mark. Original Empire green patina.

A magnificent French Art deco grey marble and onyx, two colour patinated metal figural mantel clock & two matching lamps cast from a model by R.Sega.
The mantel clock, on an oval plinth, supporting by two fully sculpted crouching females figures a diamond-shaped dial.
