A set of seven very rare Pyu silver coins. Dated 100 to 900 AD. Some coins have holes in them, probably used for jewerly. Sizes: Large coin 2.4cm Smallest 1.4cm. Condition Fine. Natural patina.
An unusual bone handle dagger decorated with a turquoise stone and silver a copper fittings. The sheath is made of silver with a woven silver chain attached to the knife. There is piece of "stingray skin" wrapped around the middle. There is one turquoise stone decorating the sheath with two red (resin) stones that originally were red coral.The blade is made of steel. A. H. Heisey & Company beautiful pressed glass pitcher with open work silver floral design on the rim. The bottom has the "H" maker's mark inclosed in a diamond shape.

A very rare early Ava Period Buddha with heavy silver alloy casting and remains of gold gilding setting with the right hand in the "bhumisparsa mudra" earth touching position. Very heavy for it's size. Size: H. 28cm. W.Base. 17cm.

A very rare an unique large aquamarine pendant from the Pyu period. The gem has a hand drilled hole through the center to attach the gold rod. You can see in the photos, which I used back lighting to show the drilling, how painstakingly it must have been to drill through the gem. The surface of the gem has smooth carvings of a floral design on both sides. The gold is probably from a later date. Condition: perfect. Size: See last photo.
A ewer with an greyish-olive toned glaze that covers all but the foot and base. The mouth is trumpet-flared and the 3-lobed rim of the mouth is trimmed in silver (see photos). The grooved strap handle is typical of Song items .
A votive prayer container in silver with the a Tibetan bronze character in relief on the front. The silver is incised with leaf and flower patterns. The inside has a votive tablet bronze tablet of a Tibetan god astride a makara. There are also 2 prayer sheets, one hand-lettered, the other block printed.
A rectangular silver box rich in high relief of dancers in costume. The detailing of the human forms and the patterning on their costumes is finely done. The background of the dancers is done in open-work silver of a pattern of swirling leaves and tendrils. At the bottom of the box is a large hand-hammered mythical Asian chimera (Makara). An ornate silver betel box with open-work patterns of curling tendrils. The body and lid each have five panels with high relief work depicting 10 different scenes of ancient Burma. (see photos) The top of the domed lid has a lotus blossom. The bottom is hammered with the date and occasion for the piece.
