Circa 1900, Austria. This striking copper centerpiece is hand-hammered in a fantastic organic shape. Naturalistic motifs of this kind are typical of the Austrian Jugenstil movement. A wildly wonderful piece of Victorian decorative arts. In excellent condition.
Circa 1780. England. Pair of Bilston Battersea enameled open salts. This is the best pair of Battersea salts we have ever seen. Three different pastoral scenes are painted on the sides, and the condition is just stunning, with one tiny area of loss to the bottom of one of the feet on one of the salts. There is also a bit of crazing to the interior white enamel, which is common on pieces of this age.
Circa 1880, by J. Trostup, Norway. In 830 silver with gilt. This is a superb example of the plique a jour work that the Trostup silversmiths were world-famous for. Condition is excellent. Measurements: 1 1/8" diameter x 3/4" high. Weight: 26g.
