Romantic transferware tureen from short-lived firm of James and Thomas Edwards between 1839 - 1841. Classic brown color, 7.5 in tall and 10.2 in square. Condition is excellent with one shallow base chip (see image) and a few light use marks. Blind stamped "porcelain opaque."
Early English pearlware Blue Willow chinoiserie moulded pickle dish. The classic pattern is in a deep, cobalt blue, glaze is glossy. Clay body is light and moulded with a leaf design on the back. There is a faint bluish cast to the glaze.
Length is 5 1/4", width is 4", depth is 1 1/4". Condition is excellent.
Romantic transferware cup plate"Italian Buildings" by Ralph Hall is the pattern of this in red or pink. Diameter is 3 3/4". Condition is very good with a slight, very tight 1/3" hairline not seen from the front and two thin places to the glaze, perhaps from the fingers that dipped it in so long ago.
A very nice transferware platter from a great maker. Length is 15 1/2, width is 11 3/4". Condition is very good with two small glaze pinholes and no use marks.Marked with the Adams blind stamp and a transfer title.
A pretty pair of Davenport "stone china" soup plates with clobbered overglaze enameling and gilding. Pattern is "Chinese Scenery" in blue. Diameter is 9 1/2", depth 1 1/2", condition is excellent.Romantic transferware at its best.
I offer a set of 12 lovely John Ridgway "Pomerania" romantic transferware plates ca. 1835.
These are 10.5" in diameter and in truly wonderful condition. There are very few light use marks, glaze is bright and shining. The only problems are some footrim chips on 2 of these and a scrape to the glaze of one edge.

Pomerania platter depicts a scenic port view of this Baltic capital. Gorgeous 19 1/2" romantic transferware staffordshire platter. Width is 16", condition is excellent with a sprinkling of light use marks, no chips or cracks or staining. The pattern is very crisp and well fitted to the undulant border.

Ridgway 'Pomerania' romantic transferware luncheon/salad plates, set of 10.
Condition is excellent on 7 of these, the other three have chips to the foot, a fine stress crack, light staining to the back and a 1.5" super tight hairline. I have shown these in the images. These show beautifully and will fill a cupboard. There are some light use marks commensurate with age.
Photos show 8 plates but there are 10 plates in all.
These are part of a large group of the Pomerania pattern that I am offering.
Early, simple Salopian type pearlware jug with wonderful pastoral transfer in unusual blue-grey color. Perhaps this was a scene the decorator saw out the window as he worked.
Height is 6", width is 5 1/2". Condition is excellent with glazed over lip chip done in the making (see image).No cracks but some use discoloration to foot. Note the blue outline to the top edge of this jug.
Ralph Stevenson and Williams, an American importer, had a brief partnership that ended around 1843. This rich cobalt dark blue Chinoiserie decorated platter shows the mark from that partnership. Length is 16", width is 13 1/2". Condition is very good with some staining to gadroon rim as shown and light use marks. A nice platter with historic connections.
Handsome "Aurora" pattern transferware platter in clobbered rich brown. Size is 15" x 11.5" and condition is excellent with no chips, cracks or staining. Fabulous backstamp of Philadelphia retailer Tyndale & Mitchell, Chestnut Street.
Child's pearlware transferware plate with embossed edge and enameling. Diameter is 6 3/4 ", condition is good with some use wear, nicks to inner rim and small losses to enamel. Image is a rural house with trees and bushes. This is unusual and charming.
