This charming doll is wonderfully detailed. She is all cloth with embroidered face features, beaded necklace and matching headband and thread hair. She is wearing a long under slip. Her dress is has multiple layers of gathered bands of fabric, and is topped with a full length apron which ties in the back.

Women of the Victorian era would use this type of fixed fan to protect their face make-up from the heat of the fireplace. The front of this wooden fan has a wonderfully delicate painting of a Chinese village scene with people, houses, willow trees, creek etc. In addition, there is a painted decorative border which details the scalloped edge of the fan. This vintage female Seminole Indian doll is made of palm fronds. She wears traditional costume with patchwork skirt, and a yellow bead necklace. Except for her top which is a bit dirty, she is in excellant condition. She is 9 inches tall. Thls doll is one of several Seminole Indian dolls which were brought back from Florida by a loving uncle and given to me as a very young child in the early 1940's
