Important Museum quality Japanese 19C wood, lacquer and ivory Okimono of a woman -musician sitting on a bench, with a drumstick and a drum in her hands, finely carved from ivory. Her feet, head, a hat and flower decorations are also carved from ivory and scrimshawed. Japanese Meiji Period (1868-1912) wood gold lacquered okimono of an old man on a deer with a flute in his hand, on original wood base. There is a wonderful lacquer work over the okimono and magnificent fine carving over the body and head of the deer. The deer has shibayama inlaid eyes. It has an original age patina. 6 1/2" long x 6 3/4" tall x 3" deep (without the base)

Japanese Edo Period late 18th - first part 19th century museum quality wood carved Okimono of shishi in magnificent dynamic position, signed by the artist. The Okimono is very detailed and has a high hand polishing and original brown patina. The interior of the jaw and tongue are painted with red enameling. The engraved signature is on the bottom of Shishi. It has a proper age patina, no damages. 12" long x 8" tall 6 3/4" deep.

Japanese wood (zetan) lacquered Okimono of a woman dancer on her knee with her hands raised in a dance move. All parts are finely detailed and fine hand-carved , on a Tokyo School level. One piece of wood (zetan) and dancer's obi are magnificently decorated with maki-e and hiromaki-e golden silver lacquer works. There is maki-e, hiromakie and nashiji works over the black lacquer background and Pine trees over the interior. Nashiji background is throughout the box. The box is in pristine condition. Japanese Meiji Period (1868-1912) hand-carved shibayma inlaid Wood dark-brown lacquered Okimono of an elephant with ivory tusks; mother-of -pearl and black coral inlaid eyes. There are mother-of-pearl and coral inlays over a saddle, yellow green lacquer over a saddle and mother-of pearl butterfly. The inlaid signature of the artist is underneath the elephant. 11" x 7 1/4" tall x 4 3/4" It has no damages and minimum age wear. There are no cracks and no restorations.
