Modernist vase designed by Edith Sonne Bruun (1910 - 1993) for Saxbo, Denmark. From 1932 Edith Sonne Bruun shared a workshop with ceramicist Chr Poulsen. She joined Saxbo 1938-39 and 1946-61. From 1951 she signed her pieces 'Sonne'. Perfect condition. Signed: Sonne and Saxbo mark (ying yang symbol) Height: 5.7 inches (14.5 cm). Diameter: 3.1 inches (8 cm).

The unlikely friend Kanzan and Jitoku are seen enjoying an outing fishing on the sides of this bowl by Eiraku Zengoro XIV (Tokuzen/Myozen) and Okamoto Shuseki enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 7-1/2 inches (19 cm) diameter, 3-1/2 inches (9 cm) tall and in fine condition.
