$145.00

A colorful art pottery vase made in England at the Rolle Quay facility established by William Baron in 1895. The design reflects the popularity of mountaineering in the Alps at the end of the 19th century. The vase is made of the local red clay, hand thrown and hand painted, with a glaze drip that can be seen in the photo (before firing glazes do not have the same intense color as they do after firing, so the drip was missed at the time by Baron). Measures 3-1/2 inches in height, with no dama ...click for details

The shape suggests the three-handled, three-spout tyg, a traditional form. But this hand made piece is a stylized late 19th century artist's pot made by C.H. Brannam in his studio at his family's Barum facility. It was made in 1897 from the local red clay and beautifully glazed with fish and other marine life forms. The piece measures 3 inches in height and 14 inches in circumference, and is in perfect condition.
