A vintage modernist brooch by Hector Aguilar in 940 silver. This brooch, in the Double V design, measures 1 7/8" across and 1 1/4"high. Marked on the back 940, HA Taxco Sterling and Eagle #9. A vintage bolo tie with a Pre Columbian creature in thick sterling silver by Fortino Mota, who was one of the chief silversmiths for Antonio Pineda. Measures 1 3/8" across and 1 1/4" tall. Leather braid is about 40" long with what look like sterling tips. Bolo is marked Mexico 0.925 Mota Tasco and eagle #183. Sterling has a little tarnish. A little wear to the leather braid. Great stylized design.
