This lovely Satsuma vase with its charming imagery is finely rendered with two panels framed by a gilt T-fret Greek border, one panel depicts a bijin with her dog and attendant, the latter figure carries an infant on her back. On the reverse panel, a child plays closeby as the attendant gathers shells. The seashore, cascading sakura, pine and maple trees serve as a poetic backdrop for this empathic scene. An impressive, four-sided Gosu- blue Satsuma koro with a hammered silver cover of kiku design. Each gilt-bordered panel is decorated with a copious arrangement of flowers—including chrysanthemums, peonies and daisies on a gosu ground, its masterful Imagery rendered in the traditional Satsuma color palette of gold, gosu, red and green enamels. This elegant Satsuma piece is in very good condition with only minor wear to the gilt, indicative of age and usage. Height: 12.5” 19th Century, Japan

A high-shouldered Satsuma bowl of round form delicately painted with free-formed branches of brightly enameled maple leaves. Subtle shading, gilt detailing and color add to the superior quality of this piece. By the Satsuma master Yabu Meizan (1868-1925) whose distinctive work is highly sought after today by museums, collectors and connoisseurs. Antique Satsuma tea container well painted and signed , there is an interior top edge chip , and there is a loss to the inside body , from the out side its looks almost perfect . The Tea pot and the tea cup are just thrown in . The cup is quite nice only a hair line as seen as well the tea pot is missing top of finial and a large loss at the neck . All have nice paint work and are all signed. Sold as is

This is really an exquisite piece of Japanese Satsuma. It is signed by Seikozan who was one of the finest satsuma artists. Maybe decorated after a woodblock print by Kawanabe Kyosai. Condition: fine, only rim with some wear to the gilding and footrim with a small firing defect. This is an excellent example of antique Japanese Satsuma. The vase was made by the top kinkozan artist. It is in outstanding condition. What is unusual about this vase is the very elaborate bonus signature on the bottom. It was created to decorate over a factory craze line. The vase stands 7 1/2 inches tall and is 6 1/4 inches wide.

There are a variety of motifs on this koro, including an assortment of insects and multiple social scenes. The finial is finely sculpted to for a chrysanthemum flower. The condition is excellent with the exception of some visible gilt wear. It measures 4.25" x 4.75" and dates about 1900.

This is a late Meiji/early Taisho Period Satsuma fish form plate, inspired by the same form which was seen much earlier in Imari. It is beautifully decorated with a lively enameled milfluer design. The mark of Koshida is on the reverse side. It dates about 1915 - 1920 and measures 9.25" x 6". The condition is excellent.
