Set of 4

A very rare set of (probably) English 9-7/8" plates in a variant of the original Blue Willow pattern. We haven't been able to accurately identify this pattern with its distinctive border butterflies in our books, however they are definitely Georgian. The porcelain is the expected light gray and the decoration is slightly blurred and each plate has the expected frit and minor variations from the manufacture of these items. It is quite unusual to find a matched set of four of these pla ...click for details

This lovely and very old serving spoon could have graced the dining room of any of Miss Austen’s well-to-do characters. It has a berry motif in the gold-washed interior bowl (the wash or gilt is very pale and doesn’t show up in the photos). By its hallmarks (crowned leopard’s head, lion passant, and date letter “N” with “feathers”), it was made in London during 1768-1769. The maker’s mark is a script “BB”. It measures 8-1/2" x 1-3/4", and weighs approximately 56g. Just gorgeous! Pleas ...click for details

This wonderful Georgian ring could have been worn by one of Jane Austen’s more well-to-do characters! Diamond is the birthstone for April. The ring is approximately a size 5. It isn’t possible to estimate the weight of set rose cut diamonds; it is in the I range for clarity – normal for its era.
