A rare European subject famille rose cup and saucer enamelled with a design of figures and buffalo, evidently copying a European engraving. Ht. of cup: 6.5 cm.; diameter of saucer: 12.0 cm. Qianlong (1736-95).

One minute flake of enamel loss. No other faults.

Sold 

A copper Singhalese tobacco or betel box inlaid in silver with a foliate lotus pattern. Width: 9.cm. 20th cent.

No damage. The lid is airtight and the interior bears the KAA stamp of the Kandyan Art Association (founded 1882) together with the Singhalese Lion.

A rare Chinese bronze huqqa base ring with pierced decoration. Diameter: 11.6 cm. 17/18th cent.

Polished. No damage.

I have had this piece for many years but never found a Chinese bronze huqqa base to match it, though the form is known in porcelain and Canton enamel at least, so somewhere a bronze one must exist.

A rare Japanese gilt-copper ekoro (censer), the brazier engraved with lotus, the cover pierced with a dharma wheel surrounded by scrolling foliage and the handle similarly decorated. Length: 27.5 cm. Kamakura period (14/15th cent.).

A small pillar mounted on the terminal of the handle is missing.

The fragment has been professionally cleaned, conserved and mounted under conservation glass.
