The dish is in pristine condition and was previously in the collection of the porcelain expert David Battie.

The decoration is executed in European style, showing the influence of the Jesuit missionary court artists.

A large Swatow celadon-glazed dish with incised decoration of a dragon amongst waves and fish. Diameter: 14 7/8 in. 17th century.
There are three hairline rim cracks ( 3 3/8 in., 4 in. and 2 5/8 in.)shown in the details, two with associated chips to the reverse. Wear to the centre of the dish. Typical gritty kiln adhesions to the reverse. No other damage.
A Chinese green monochrome hu with elephant head handles, the exterior covered with a mid-green glaze with stained ge-type crackle. Height: 6 in. 19th century.

A Chinese export articulated ivory acrobat. Height: 3 ½ in. 19th century.
Slightly larger and better carved than his bone counterpart, this figure has an age crack to his right side as seen. No other damage. He is a bit more temperamental when it comes to performing tricks.
