A Chinese lady’s informal robe of red silk damask, the white silk collar, hem and sleevebands embroidered with plants, butterflies and figures in a landscape in couched gold thread and coloured silks, the pale blue silk lining intact and with minor staining. Excellent condition with minimal losses only to some threads. Gilt buttons, one fastening loop missing. Late 19th/early 20th cent.
