A small Japanese kakemono of two birds sitting on a branch of flowering cherry in the manner of Tsubaki Chinzan (1801-54). Dimensions: 19 x 52 ¼ in. Painted area: 13 x 11 ¼ in. Red two-character seal mark. Sumi-e and colour on paper. Inscription on reverse of mount. Fitted paulownia wood box. Probably 19th century or earlier.Creased and discoloured.
