A fine quality Longquan celadon lotus bowl, the grey stoneware body with incised foliate decoration under a fine olive/straw-coloured glaze. Diameter: 6 5/8 in. Yuan dynasty (13-14th cent.).Probably made in Fukien rather than Zhejiang, as it lacks the usual glaze within the footrim. The glaze, with a slight crackle, is unusually good, smooth and lustrous. A 3 in. hairline rim crack is the only damage.
