A Japanese lacquer box decorated in takamakie with a man leading an ox on a fundame ground, the interior with densely sprinkled nashiji. Dimensions: 5 1/8 in. x 3 7/8 in. x 2 ½ in. deep. 19th century.There is a crack to one corner of the lid. Some faint scratches to sides. Small lacquer loss to one corner. The lid fits with typical exquisite precision. No other damage.
