A rare early English porcelain small octagonal platter or tureen stand, decorated in underglaze blue with a Chinese-style scene of rocks, flowers, etc. within a diaper border. Length: 10 in.; late 18th century.

I suspect that this interesting little platter is Liverpool. The body is rather thick and the glaze somewhat smeary and the footrim has a broad V-shape. Perhaps these details will clue someone in. Unfortunately ...click for details

A Samson Kakiemon figure of an elephant, with enamelled floral decoration and scrolling karakusa. Red enamel Chantilly mark to the underside. Height: 5 ¾ in.; length: 8 ½ in. Late 19th / early 20th cent.

The ends of both tusks have been chipped off, but there is no other damage.

An attractive celadon-glazed studio pottery bowl and cover with incised ribbed decoration under an even olive-green glaze. Unsigned. Height: 6 in.; diameter: 6 1/8 in.

Executed in the style of David Leach, but unsigned. The material seems to be a fine stoneware. Maybe St. Ives?

No damage.

A rare pearlware mocha bowl decorated with an eye-catching zig-zag design of brown and white slip under a slightly bluish glaze. Diameter: 4 ½ in. Early 19th century.

Slight glaze crackle within the foot and minor staining to footrim, with very slight chip.

A silver-shaped French faience dish, the pale yellow body decorated with floral sprays and insects in grand feu enamels of green, blue, yellow and brick-red on a bluish-white tin-glazed ground. Pernettes and green enamel letter R to the reverse. Diameter: 9 in. Eighteenth century.

A basalt cream jug with a fluted body, the interior glazed, the letter A impressed at the base of the handle. Height: 4 ¼ in.; early 19th century.

A good Parian pastille burner modelled as a standing Turk smoking a chibook. Height: 8 ¼ in. 19th century, c.1860-70. English or European, unmarked.

In use, the smoke emerges from the Turk’s mouth, according to the lady I bought it from. The figure (a tobacco-seller?) is heavy and well-modelled and the subject entertaining. The stem (solid) of the chibook has broken off and there is a chip to the left cuff of the fig ...click for details

A pair of Caughley shaped oval blue and white dishes, decorated with Chinese landscape panels within a key-fret and diaper border. One with an underglaze blue crescent mark within the footrim. Length: 10 ½ in. Late 18th century.

One is perfect; the other has a riveted rim section on the right hand side (see detail). No other damage.
