A Late Ming celadon dish covered with an even sea-green glaze. Diameter: 10 7/8 in. 16/17th cent.

There is wear to the glaze in the centre of the dish and the footrim has been ground. No other damage.

Sold 

A fine oblong Chinese bronze censer with geometric lug handles. Four-character cast seal mark to the base. Width: 4 5/8 in., incl. handles; height: 2 ¼ in. 17th/early 18th cent.

Like the other members of this family of bronzes, the censer is exceptionally heavily cast ( 1.25 kg.) and impresses through the sober purity of itsdesign. The patina is original, but there are a number of small knocks (and one v-shaped paring) ...click for details

A Chinese porcelain bowl or brushwasher covered in a crackled celadon glaze with a brown enamel rim and unglazed ring foot. Diameter: 10 in. Probably early 20th cent.

Small production fault shown in the detail. No other flaws. The glaze is greener than the images suggest, due to the effect of the flash.

An attractive blue Chinese porcelain bowl with a barbed rim and pierced pedestal foot, decorated to the exterior with floral sprays in white enamel. Old collector’s label within the footrim. Diameter: 10 7/8 in. 19th century.

Fritting to one or two of the barbs. No other faults.

A Chinese overlay glass snuff bottle, the body carved with a translucent floral design on a bubble-suffused ground. Green glass stopper. Height: 2 3/8 in. Probably late 19th cent.

Chip to one leaf (see detail). The solid glass stopper has cracks though it has no inclination to dislodge- possibly a feature of production.

A very attractive Chinese export porcelain platter with a barbed rim, decorated in underglaze blue with a central design of flowers and rockwork within an elaborate floral and diaper border. Width: 11 3/8 in. Qianlong (1736-95).

Slight rim fritting. One tiny chip to the reverse of one barb. No other faults.

A large Shiwan pottery figure of an eagle standing on a rocky outcrop, one leg raised, facing right. Height: 15 ½ in. 19th century.

Firing cracks, unsurprising in such a massive piece. Otherwise perfect.
