A heavy Indian cast and spun brass lota (waterpot) with a bulbous body and flaring neck, the straight lingam-yoni spout with a trefoil mount. Inscription on the lip, possibly giving name of the owner? Height: 9 1/2 in. (24.5 cm.). Probably Northern India. Moghul, 17th century. Fine condition. Zebrowski shows a group of related examples in Gold, Silver and Bronze from Moghul India. |
