Late 17thC Kakiemon Blue and White Dish
A Kakiemon blue and white dish with border decoration of the shochikubai, the reverse with a scrolling floral design. Diameter: 7 ¼ in. c.1670-90.Underglaze blue kin (gold) mark and three spur marks within the footrim.

Perfect condition.

A number of similar pieces are illustrated in the Shibata collection Vol. 2, such nos. 376 and 380 or (with the central void) no. 453. The design, fine quality body and the presence of the kin mark supports an attribution to the Kakiemon kiln.
