A well executed gilt and lacquered carving of phoenix bird in side view, standing on rock base, on cloud ground and with pearl/sun above; all in pierced carving within an elongated medallion with inverted scalloped border. Showing little wear and tear. Probably late 19th or early 20th century. Measurements: Height 25", W 15 1/2".
