Finely modeled figure dressed with sanghati, decorated in incised fashion, with hands in dhyana/meditation mudra, and seated on lotus throne. The face with urna is exceptionally well done. There is damage to the back of the curled headdress, some surface degradation and a number of tiny holes - none of which detract from the aesthetic appeal of this piece. From a private collection and acquired in Asia during the early 1960's. Measurements: H 16", W at widest point 10 1/2".

Large round cloisonné basin on cylindrical foot ring. The interior decorated with four-clawed dragon chasing flaming pearl, with green phoenix swooping down amid clouds, all on turquoise ground of swirls and flames and encircled by a band of scrolling lotus and band of blossom scrolls on broad everted rim. The exterior with a central rosette of seven lotus surrounded by lotus and floral scroll borders.
Dated to 16th/17th century of the Ming period.
Condition: Some losses to enamels.
