Lovely early Micromosaic Quill Pen c. 1880 likely purchased while visiting Rome on a Grand Tour of Europe. This pen is in remarkable condition for it's age. Tiny glass tiles or tesserae are pieced together to form a design or picture. In this case a momento of Rome or "ROMA" as the tiny type in the center of the pen spells out. No tiles missing!
