Really beautiful vintage Victoria Pin c. 1940's - 1950's. From a period in Taxco where superb design and craftsmanship was at it's peak. Here is a 1 7/8" in diameter pierced and domed flower pin that has an elegant scalloped frame. Inside the focus is on an intricate set of alternating tooled and smooth rings that appear to weave together harmoniously. So clever and really expertly executed. Gorgeous Margot De Taxco Enamel N/B Set No. 5397 A. Confetti Enamel with Leaf Green & Navy Blue the strongest of colors. Bracelet measures 7 1/2" in L x 1/2" W. Fabulous Chunky Sterling Amethyst Cuff Bracelet by M Velazquez. Big design with great feather-like details, note curled wing motif at the ends. Reminds me of an Aztec/Mayan headdress. Large Cabochon Amethyst is bezel set and sits in the center. Stone has interesting inclusions which only adds to the depth of the bracelet. I have never seen this design before and believe it to be quite rare. Fabulous Dimensional Fish Pin by the Los Castillos House, Taxco Mexico. This pin is playful with it's use of stylized swimming lines and unique textured details. There is a tiny blue saphire? stone pave` set in it's eye. The fish measures 2 1/8" W x 1 1/8" H. Fabulous Vintage Shell Earrings by William Spratling! Big Chunky Bold Design in all original condition. Earrings are screwbacks and measure 1 5/16" H x 15/16" W x 1/4" D. Marked appropriately on one earring: SPRATLING SILVER and on the other,with conjoined WS SPRATLING mark, MADE IN MEXICO. I have not tried to clean these earrings and I will leave that to the next owner's discretion. Condition is excellent. Fabulous design by the Piedra Y Plata workshop owned by Felipe Martinez. It had a very short run c. 1950 and therefore his pieces are few and highly sought after. Evidence of Martinez's training as a sculptor and stone setter are always key in identifying his pieces. His workshop's name translates to Stone and Silver. Fresh from a Boston Estate, tucked away for many years...Here is a big wonderful Vintage Hector Aguilar Acorn Pin that measures 3 1/2" W x 2 7/8" H and is featured on page 62 of Penny Morrill's book, Silver Masters of Mexico. Marked on reverse with Taxco, HA conjoined and 940. This mark is from the earliest period c. 1940-45. Excellent condition save for a good cleaning which I will leave to the next owner.
