| FABULOUS Wide Handwrought Sterling Cuff Bracelet by Toronto Modernist, Andrew Fussell (1904-1983). Fussell founded the Metal Arts Guild in Toronto with fellow artisans Harold Gordon Stacey and Douglas Boyd. His work is highly acclaimed and very difficult to find as each piece is truely a work of art! This beautiful hand hammered cuff bracelet was, in my opinion, way ahead of it's time- 1943. Pleasing to the eye as well as to the touch with every detail considered. Note how the edges flare slightly away from the wrist and that the stippling technique used here is meticulously done! Measuring 1 3/4" W x 5 3/4" inner length but add 1 1/8" for the opening. Slight flexibility in opening and closing of cuff- very comfy on! Bracelet weighs 65.8 grams and is in excellent vintage condition save for a good polish which I will leave to the discretion of the next owner! An early piece of Fussell's work as it is signed and dated by hand in script rather than with the later stamping method. Signed: STERLING, FUSSELL, TORONTO, '43. A beautiful wearable piece of Art by noted modernist Andrew Fussell. | ||
