Probably a late Edo Period, perhaps 1850-60, tripod footed, covered jar. While this interesting and attractive piece is unsigned, the cover rim and underside of the cover, along with the rim of the jar are unglazed suggesting an Edo attribution. In addition, the small crackle over a buff colored body seems to be characteristic of this period.
