Chinese, Qing Dynasty Silver Box
SOLD, Thank You

A fine quality, sterling grade silver box with traditional designs that suggest that it may have been intended for a Bride or as a wedding gift. The artistically executed Peonies in high bas relief with a moon and sparrow in the back ground can be interpreted as symbols of maidenhood and fertility. With a fitted lid and gold gilt interior, the box is in very good condition with only a very few small dents and slight abrasions from use and age. With the craftsman's touch mark on the base. Size: 3" in diameter and 2" in height. 1890-1900.
