| A well sculpted rendition of Pu-Tai also known as Budai who was elevated on his death to the Maitreya Buddha or the Buddha of the Future. Reclining with his prayer beads in one hand and his bag of sweets and good things in the other, Pu-Tai is the symbol of Happiness, Generosity, Patience and Wealth. This white porcelain is signed on the interior and does reflect its age and use in a Chinese household with several small hair line cracks, as shown, along with a tiny chip on the sleeve. The overall condition is good and will be a happy addition to any collection. Base size 7" x 6.5", height 5". Late 19th to early 20th C. | ||||||||||||
