| Persian symbolism refers to the Peacock as a guardian to Royalty and further alludes to the magnificent Peacock Throne stolen from India by the Persians in 1739. This very unusual iron bit has cheeks crafted in the form of Crowned Peacocks with brass overlaid on the iron body and then engraved with detail. The head of the peacocks are crafted with crowns and are embellished with brass eyes. The right cheek missing the eye. The bit itself has a u shaped center which swivels both at the u as well as at the cheek. There is some pitting , as shown both on the exterior as well as on the interior of the bit. The bit itself is 6" and the Peacock cheeks are 6" in height. | |||||||||||
