British Sterling Vinaigrette, Joseph William 1813

A finely crafted, ladies sterling silver vinaigrette bearing the touch marks of Joseph William of Birmingham and bearing the date code of 1813. The oval form is decorated with a punched and engraved pattern on the lid which surrounds a cartouche. The sides and back are decorated with a punched double band. The silver grill bears a simple punched pattern. The back of the grill and the interior of the box is gold gilt which shows some slight and light abrasion from use and age. In excellent condition.
