An English majolica fish tureen with cover, attributed to George Jones and Sons. Circa 1870. The cover is modeled in the form of a fish resting on a bed of seaweed, whilst the tureen is fashioned as a woven basket and is covered in a brown glaze, with a lavender interior. Size: 19.5 inches length x 8.5 inches depth x 5 inches ht. Condition: one small chip to the top rim of the tureen. Each chair has a back splat with carved figural panels. Condition: repair to break on one arm, replaced glue blocks on undersides of seats, some scuffing to one side stretcher on base. Structurally sound.

Sikes Hydrometer by Husbands and Clarke, Bristol, England in its original mahogany box. 19th century. The Sikes Hydrometer was used to determine the alcohol content of spirits in determining its proof.
