A scarce Dedham Pottery plate with a Dolphin border. Size: 8.75 inches diameter. Stamped with the early Dedham underglaze blue rabbit mark and impressed with the foreshortened rabbit stamp, marks which were used by Dedham from 1896-1928. Condition: bold, deep blue glaze border with a band of dolphins swimming beneath waves and amidst bubbles on a gray, crackled ground. No chips or cracks, but with some glaze skips from the original firing to the reverse of the plate.
Very scarce Dedham Pottery plate with Polar Bear border, decorated by Maude Rose Davenport, a skilled decorator who worked at Dedham between 1904-1928, and bearing her rebus mark within the border design. This plate displays a molded low-relief band of polar bears walking on ice flows with jagged mountains of ice in the background, painted in blue glaze on a crackled gray ground. A rare Dedham Pottery plate with Lion Tapestry blue and white border, molded in low relief on a gray, crackled ground. Marked on the reverse with the early Dedham blue underglaze rabbit stamp and also impressed with a foreshortened rabbit. These early marks were used by Dedham from 1896-1928. Size: 8.5 inches diameter. Excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or glaze skips. A must have for the serious collector.
