Rare dancing Harlequin candle snuffer cast in sterling silver, London, 1894-95, maker's mark 'M.F.' The harlequin figure is holding a pair of snake form rings above his head. Harlequin sugar tongs or nips are uncommon, however, the harlequin candle snuffers are extremely scarce. This Old English pattern ladle has a round bowl and is engraved in a feathered script on the handle with the initials 'REA' of the original owner. A pair of Georgian silver table spoons by Hester Bateman, the famous female smith who has been called the "Queen of English Silversmiths." London, 1776-1777. Length: 8.25 inches. These are in the Old English pattern with down turned handles engraved with their original family crest of a rising eagle with wings inverted on a mural coronet.
