SOLD 

Set of twelve Copeland's Spode porcelain dessert plates with pink glazed borders and floral bouquet centers (each plate is decorated with an individual floral arrangement). Pattern #4375. Made for retailer Tatman of Chicago, with date codes for 1927, and with one plate being a later replacement, bearing a date code for 1938 and signed by the artist P. Hall. Size: 9" diameter. Condition: excellent, except for a rim chip to the underside of the rim of one plate.

Tiffany & Co. small sterling silver bowl, being a Reproduction of an English George II original of 1734. Circa. 1907-1947. Size: 2 1/8" ht. x 4 1/8" diameter. Engraved monogram inside rim "MPG." Excellent condition, no dents or repairs, but some pitting to interior. Good weight.

Landscape painting of a Vermont village in winter by Robert Shaw Wesson (American, 1902-1967), oil on canvas board, signed lower right. Circa 1950s. Original artist's frame. Size: 18" x 24". Robert Shaw Wesson was born in Worcester, MA, and studied under Jay Hall Connaway. He is best known for his winter landscapes of New England. This is a particularly pleasing example of his art and is undoubtedly of a Vermont village.

"Drake's Well" by Vincent Maragliotti (Italian/American, 1888-1978). Signed lower right and dated 1976. Oil on artist board. Size: 22" x 24", and offered in a modern gilt frame. This unusual painting was commissioned for Pennsylvania's Bicentennial exhibition, celebrating its historical events. English pearlware leaf form pickle dish with Leeds type blue feather edging. Circa 1790-1800. This dish has detailed molded veining to the leaf on the top side and exhibits a pronounced blue sheen to the pearlware glaze. Size: 5.5" length x 5" width x 1" height. Floral still life by Ben Shahn (American, 1898-1969) in watercolor and ink wash on cream wove paper. Signed and dated 1928. Some light foxing to paper. Size: 23.5 inches x 15.25 inches. Ben Shahn was a Lithuanian immigrant who was brought to Brooklyn when he was only eight years old. He studied as a lithographer and photographer before becoming the noted WPA artist, who is best known for his depictions of "social realism" following the Depression.

An ornate pair of George II sterling silver open salts, London, 1759 & 1760, by David Hennell. This pair of salts are of good weight, decorated with repousse foliate work, supported on three shell feet, and retain most of their gilded interiors. Excellent condition; hallmarks show wear but are legible. Size: 3" diameter x 2" height.
