Rare American double steeple or "Steeple on Steeple" shelf clock by Elisha Manross, Bristol, Conn. Circa 1840s. The case is finished in mahogany veneer and has two original reverse painted glass panels in the doors, with views of the "Capital At Washington." Most of the original paper maker's label is intact. Tiffany & Company red marble shelf clock resting on brass ball feet. French 8-day movement striking the hour and half hour on a bell and stamped Tiffany & Co. New York. 19th century. Excellent working condition, tiny chip to marble at one corner. Size:8.75 inches wide x 8.75 inches high x 5.75 inches deep.
