| Coney Island original silkscreen by listed artist Harry Shokler (American, 1896-1978). Circa 1942. Signed in the plate. Brightly colored with amusement park rides, including a ferris wheel and roller coaster. This is one of the most desirable and colorful works by this NY/VT artist. Excellent condition. Image size: 12.5 inches x 16 inches. An exhibition entitled "The Making of Coney Island: Color Screen Prints by Harry Shokler" was recently held at the Cincinnati Art Museum. Shokler was a native of Cincinnati and was a pioneer of this technique. This image was included in the exhibition. He also maintained a residence in South Londonderry, Vermont. | ||
