Gustave Adolf Wiegand (American, 1870-1957) painting. This large canvas captures the glory of New Hampshire's fall foliage with red sugar maples lining the bank of Lake Sunapee and with mountains visible on the distant horizon. Titled on the stretcher in pencil, "New Hampshire Autumn" and titled on a card attached to the stretcher, "Glorious Autumn at Lake Sunapee, New Hampshire by Gustave Wiegand." Oil on canvas. Signed lower right: Gustave Wiegand. Size: 29 inches x 34 inches. Excellent condition, not relined.
