| Set of French silver-gilt coffee spoons in the Egyptian taste, Second Empire (Napoleon III's reign), 950 sterling standard, by Henin & Company. Circa 1840-1879. This set includes 9 demitasse spoons and a matching sugar spoon, each with a tapering obelisk shaped stem, engraved with dots within lozenges beneath a palmette finial. Every bowl is engraved on both sides, and the owner's monogram is engraved on the underside of the bowls of the 9 coffee spoons. Hallmarked in the bowls with silver standard mark of Mercury's head, used on silver created for export, and the maker's mark H&Cie in a lozenge. These spoons retain most of their original gilding. Size: 4.75 inches long. Excellent condition and weight. | ||
